Que fin de semana pesao. Totally Heavy.
Friday was a dope ass super night. Right after work I went to Friday Night Dynamite: Good Bye Dawn Edition. Two new people were there and it was nice to share Friday Night Dynamite with others. I love helping Rachel in the kitchen before people arrive. Feels like a family of sorts. And Holden and Pipper are just two balls of energy and Joy. They remind me that I am getting old when I can't catch up to them. Never ending energy. As if people get plugged in to outlets while they sleep. They are such little rock stars.
After that I met up with Raj, Wes, Charles, Ta' Dai, Victoria, Jessica (not poetry related) and entorage. Some people in the entorage were cool and some were not cool so I stuck to the people I already knew. I am not anti-social or anything and I do love to meet new COOL people and that's what happened at the Frying Pan when I met Raj's friend Karen, a blue haired, blue eyed, seattle born chelloist in NYU, with the moves that had the entire dance floor making space, so everyone else could learn. I did a good job as well. The Frying Pan is surreal dance club haven. The best part is that it is not a club for the pretty. You don't wear heals or pretty clothes to the Frying Pan. I mean you don't dress like a bum either, but this is no Britney Justin Dance off, long exclusive line, Night at the Roxberry, type of club. This is dance till you drop, cool, hang out spot. It is in what looks to be an old cargo boat, or something, that has many passages that lead to different parts of the boat. It is on Chelsea Piers with a veiw off the front of the boat that is just breath taking. Watching the water is also something refreshing in between sweaty dance sessions. It was an experience, that I hope to repeat many times over. I loved it.

Oh BTW I made Semi-finals at Urbana so if you guys wanna see me do something I don't do well come to Urbana. That's all I have to say about that.

Saturday I went to my Friends Birthday party at the 40/40 club. So I stood about two to three feet away from Jay-Z and waved hi. Looks like a nice guy, no bling bling or anything, just a guy having a drink. Apparently I walked by Iverson and didn't realize it. I wouldn't recognize him now if he stood in front of me so I guess the experience was wasted on me or something. Oh well. At one point I had to push my friend down the stairs and tell her to stop staring at Jay. We hung out at a VIP room called the Hall Of Fame which was okay. Maybe I got over my very rich things flashy phase, but after being at such a dingy dirty place the night before and having the time of my life, all this flash wasn't doing much for me. Not much at all. I was bored most of the time but was glad to be with my friend and her family, who I only usually see once a year. They love me very much, and I suspect that my over the top energy is perfect for once or twice a year, but they would probably think I was crazy if they saw me on a day by day basis. Who knows.

After I went home and slept about four hours, got up and went to the Bowery for the fundraiser. The Urban word kids were cool, but all of their styles are way too similar. And not to mention the fact that they performed for themselves because they were first at bat, and left right after their rotation. Cirelli said they had extreme practicing but the truth is that if you are leaving right after you perform at least have the decency not sit at the very front of the room and take attention away from the next performer. That is just tastless and disrespectful. It throws off my chi when it happens to me., but Raj is a trooper and he came back with a one two of magnetic poetry that will go down in the ol' books. Word is bond.
Too bad I had to go to work on such a dope ass day. That doesn't hold me down. I still stood in front of the building wtih shades on and greeted everyone passing by with a huge smile. Dope ass. After work at 11 I met up with Raj and we went to Central park for a little while. That was also a great time, because the pond was really nice at night. Conversations are always enhanced there anyway.
It was a good weekend.
Actually it was totally Rock Star.

Con tato, Chevere nice, Te gusto?
