Life is love. I’m learning this more and more. The more love the better the harder the sweeter the more complicated. That’s all good though. I’ve been keeping real busy and still trying to find time to play in between the beats. Like the heart rests.
So two Wednesdays ago I had maybe the best show So far. Jane LeCroy’s Transmitting served me up some hot tunes with Raj (gekojones) on them damn fire plates. It wasn’t packed but a bunch of friends who have never seen me perform saw that show. Now I dun set the bar, so if they ever see me again they will expect that amount of blood fire.
The radio gig was okay. She kept classifying me as a spoken word artist. I’m a poet. Is that too difficult to comprehend? Anyway this is the link to the show and it will be up for 85 more days if you wanna listen to it. http://archive.wbai.org/ It is the show called City Watch on Wednesday May 3rd, 2006. Check it check it check it out.
I’ve been feeling pretty good actually. Thinking more and more about the future. Trying to figure out how I can escape the corporate 9-5 job and get into something completely artistic, while not starving or being evicted from my apartment.
Teaching themz kids makes me tired but it is a very happy tired. Not upset or sad at all. Just happy to be able to make some type of difference in their lives. Some of them really shock me.
I’m looking forward to more warm activities. The night walks with no jackets. The flip flops. All of it. I love seasonal living so much. I don’t think I would like living somewhere with one type of season all year. No Miami, no Alaska. They may be nice places to visit but never live. NY has its incredible Autumn appeal as well as its Winter, Spring and Summer appeal. Every month in NY has its own distinct attitude and attraction. I want to see the world, but I want to live in NY. All of it, (keep staten island)
I’m hanging out more with Raj, Wess, Charles and company, and it feels good to get back to a regular schedule with the boys. We make a good version of the four rum-o-teers. Oh and I found the Flor de Caña in the Bronx. Got two really big bottles of it. By the time I go back to Raj’s I probably wont see anymore left, but that’s all good.
