Big Party
This is the Movie edition of my post. Oscar Season brings excitment. 80% of movies released during November and December should be awesome. The rest of the year have great movies spotting here are there scattered across the first 9 months. Then October has a few more. Isn't this the best time of the year? It is for many many reasons. Here we go!
Movies you must see.
Finding Neverland: Just Magical, Just Amazing
Motorcyle Diaries: Take a journey with a young man taking a journey. It Rocked.
Sideways: You'll laugh, You'll want a drink, and you'll be happy you aren't the main character.
But it is hilarious
Ray: Jaime, You Go Boy!!!
Umm that is all I remember right now even though I know I've seen a few more movies.
Oh and Bridgette Jones II sucked ass with shit crumbs. That was more like a obituary than a diary.
Movies I am looking forward to are:
1) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Johnny Depp as Willy, Tim Burton behind the camera, Dark Chocolate will have a whole new meaning.
2) Phantom of the Opera: I haven't seent the musical but the trailor is just so attractive.
3) Closer: Love square, coming from every corner. Semi-new beauty Portman, Old beauty Roberts, The brit, and the other cat. Looks like a great movie, with a great soundtrack.
4) Alexander: As soon as it hits HBO
6) Blade Trinity: The honest truth is that it looks stupid to me, but I saw the other two.
7) House of flying daggers: Looks like a total wow movie.
8) The Aviator: Can Leonardo Di Caprio make another Multiple Oscar Winning Movie without getting one single nomination? The world will soon know.
9) Lemorry Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events: Jim Carrey, that's it.
10) A very long Engagement: I am a Sappy Romantic
11) Spanglish: Adam Sandler, is brilliant and I am sure I will cry with this one
12) Hotel Rwanda: The trailor was hot.
13) Meet the Fockers: As self explanitory as it gets
14) The Merchant of Venice: Pacino doing Shakespear. WOW WOW WOW.
Other Titles that I haven't heard too much about
Mission Impossible 3
The Ring Two
Star Wars: Episode III
Robots
Cinderella Man
Sisterhood of traveling pants
Batman Begins
The Fantastic Four
Indiana Jones IV
Bewitched
Curious George
Dukes of Hazard
Spiderman 3
Xmen 3
Bond 21
and King Kong.
Can't wait to hear more about all of these.
These are the results for last weekend at the movies. Notice that movies like finding Neverland and Ray haven't made it to number one. But they will linger in the charts way past any stupid blockbuster. They have long shelf lives, and lets not forget that they will be re-released fight after Oscars are given out. Kate Blanchett must win for either Finding Neverland, or Eternal Sunshine, of a Spotless Mind. The movie might have been early this year, but it will be nevertheless present on Oscar night.
