A day off and now it's gone. A day off and now it's gone.
I am really getting used to this day off thing. Now I can't quit a weekend job before January. The Christmas bonus thing is what I work for all year. I am coming to the conclusion that it is just not cool to work seven days a week anymore. Which means that I must find alternate forms of income. Or find ways to adjust my style of living, quality of life if you will.
My day off was splendid. I did nothing all day. Nothing at all. Marisol and I just lounged around and watched T.V. all afternoon. After a midday nap (that’s right I had a Disco nap) We decided not to go to Manhattan and discover the wonders of the Bronx. So naturally we went to Montezuma's where I ate way too much good food. I also had Flan for the first time in a long time. I forgot that I liked it. I think it is because I used to eat it every damn day. My mother had a period where she had an obsession with making flan. Then it moved to other things, but that's a whole nother thesis.
The day was great. I did nothing. A true day off. Off of everything.
The weekend was pretty cool too. Friday Abena rocked out! She really did the crowd a favor. Her voice and presentation was incredible, not to mention the Piano Player. Damn Play that tune Mr. Piano Man. After the gig, the group decided to have dinner in a Grilled Cheese Sandwich place. A great idea for lunch, but I was really hungry and not in the mood for that. I was also tired, the day was long and I thought leaving the group at that time would be good for all. So I went to Uno's and had Chicken Spinocholi. Try it, it's great. Awesome even. Anyway I just had a craving for a favorite that was distant from me. I enjoyed it to the fullest of my potential.
Saturday I decided to do as little work as possible. Really I did nothing for hours. I actually left the building unnoticed for a few hours. Bad Bad boy. Later that night I went to a family party. One of my cousins had her baby shower. The whole thing was boring but, a good reason to see family and have free drinks. Very very fun. The hall was only rented until 12 midnight, which is usually when the parties get good. I wasn't too sore, I just grabbed a few six packs and headed to Mommy's place where I joked around with them for the rest of the night. Marisol and I were attacked by mosquito's but got out of Mom's house alive. Thank god there is no west-nile warning this year. Picking up my mother and putting her upside down till her face is red and she is screaming really really loud is fun. I have to do it more often. Her husband thinks that it is funny too.
Sunday, still no plans of work but I stayed till 11pm. I guess that was karma angry with me for the lack of work on Saturday. But Karma gave me over time. Just a slap in the wrist it guess. Of course I didn't have a chance to do much on Sunday, so I just saved my energy for Monday. My day off.
Now it's Tuesday, and I am back at work. So is Marisol who was having a mini break down this morning. First day after two months, I would be wigging. She's be fine, she is a lot stronger than she knows.
That's enough for now.
